OUR MISSION
The mission of the Disability Bar Association of Sacramento (DIBAS) is to celebrate and promote the equity and inclusion of the disabled members of the legal community* through support, education, and participation in civic and social activities.
*We understand the choice of words matters. Some people prefer people-first language. We respect how people self-identify and desire to be inclusive.
ALL ARE WELCOME
We define our group broadly, welcoming anyone who identifies as person with a disability or an ally. Disability encompasses a broad spectrum and can include physical, mental, visible and non-visible, permanent and temporary. We value all forms of diversity. We are committed to a culture of belonging where all people are welcome. We believe that advocacy for persons with disabilities must recognize the unique challenges faced by people who experience multiple forms of discrimination.
